We asked U.S. adults to make a decision about whether or not to adopt a fictional education technology based on results from a study using synthetic data. Participants saw findings depicted in one of four ways: a traditional frequentist test for an effect different from zero, a Bayesian analysis that calculates the probability that the effect is greater than zero, and frequentist and Bayesian analysis that estimate whether an effect is of a minimum meaningful size.
