Good issues for new developers to get started with

As mentioned in another topic, let’s have a thread devoted to issues that new developers might tackle in order to get them introduced to the codebase. I have a few candidates here but I’m extremely new myself so I’m sure there are better ones out there. Please add issues here and maybe we can start a system of tagging newbie-friendly issues and providing “getting started” commentary on the issues to mirror some other open source project practices aimed at this goal.

Adding a new distribution seems like a mess to dive into with the testing framework that goes with it.

It’s not so bad. I think the functionality has been documented (not well) and there are 30+ examples. This is for univariate distributions. For multivariate, there isn’t really a clear path to follow.
