A friend in the Australian government’s review on retirement savings is implementing some quite complex models in Stan, which I’ve been reviewing. The code itself is difficult to read, so I suggested that they adopt some code cleanliness standards to make it easier. Thing is, I’ve not written any down and haven’t seen anyone who has. I know the core team have strong norms and standards, but haven’t much other than the bit in the manual on commenting.
Are there any examples of quite large, complex Stan models out there that are especially readable for reviewers?
