dear Stan developers,
If you would like to supervise a project, please add your idea to this Stan wiki page:
Hi I am Kuldeep, interested in gsoc idea , from where i should start?
Hi, Kuldeep and welcome to the Stan forums.
Was there a particular project in which you were interested? If not, @mitzimorris is the best person to talk to, though I think the R projects would probably be managed by @bgoodri or @andrjohns or @Jonah.
Is their any particular skill requirement for proposal to get accepted ( for Gsoc idea ).
@Bob_Carpenter I’m interested in the bayesplot package project listed in the GSoC idea.
Could you guide me on where to start?

It is beneficial if you have some previous experience in contributing to open source software. A good way to illustrate git skills is to show your PR for solving one of the easy issues or fixing something in documentation (if you.don’t have such yet, you can make one).
Sounds good! @avehtari can you help me from where should i start so that i can get friendly with the code ? I am interested in the loo package GSoC idea.
Hey i am ronit this side , i am interested in the gsoc project ( loo package) but there wasn’t much information given in the idea section such as prerequisite, skills , outcomes , etc.
i went through the bda course from aki vehtari sir and i have grasped model checking for bayesian Data to a mediocre level. I went through aki vehtari sir’s researcher paper Bayesian Model Assessment and Comparison Using Cross-Validation Predictive Densities and Practical Bayesian model evaluation using leave-one-out cross-validation both papers gave a thorough understanding of loo cross validation , i have many doubts could someone please guide me further. And also please tell me if I would be working on stan framework directly in c++ or using libraries in r or python. Thank you
This is for the R LOO package: Efficient Leave-One-Out Cross-Validation and WAIC for Bayesian Models • loo
Hi @avehtari,
I’m not sure if this thread is the best place to express interest in the bayesplot project, but I’d love to get involved if you’re still looking for folks.
If so, can you advise on the best way to get in touch?
In any case, thanks!
Just mentioning that I have sent a private message for all who have asked for further information here.
