Just thought I’d start a thread with GitHub gotchas.

Formatting on issues and pull request via email

If you respond to an issue or pull request via email, you lose the ability to use Markdown formatting. You can’t even go into the GitHub web interface and put in code blocks or other formatting. GitHub will ignore it.

I’m sure we’ll find more. There was that thing about being able to commit to a branch if it’s a fork and there’s a pull request to the main branch, but not if there’s a a pull request on the fork.

All the stuff about detached heads makes me think of Nearly Headless Nick.
