We’re happy to share the third keynote speaker for StanCon 2026! StanCon 2026 will take place 17–21 August 2026 in Uppsala, Sweden.
Kaitlyn Johnson, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Joint modelling to infer transmission and evolutionary dynamics of infectious diseases from multiple different data sources
Kaitlyn Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Dynamics at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She is an infectious disease modeller whose work focuses on statistical modelling, nowcasting and forecasting, and real-time analysis, alongside open-source tool development to support timely public health decision-making.
Before joining LSHTM, Johnson worked across academic and public health settings, including the UT COVID-19 Modelling Consortium, the Rockefeller Foundation’s Pandemic Prevention Institute, and the CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics. Her research explores how model design and diverse surveillance inputs, such as wastewater, can improve forecasting performance, with an emphasis on accessibility and reproducibility for local health authorities and other end users.
