Announcing StanCon 2026 last keynote

We’re happy to share the last keynote speaker for StanCon 2026! StanCon 2026 will take place 17–21 August 2026 in Uppsala, Sweden - more details can be found at https://stancon2026.org

Matthew Kay, Northwestern University

Systematic uncertainty visualization design (and its foundation in probabilistic models)

Matthew Kay is an Associate Professor jointly appointed in Computer Science and Communications Studies at Northwestern University. He works in human-computer interaction and information visualization and co-directs the Midwest Uncertainty Collective. His work has involved the development of tools and workflows for post-processing Bayesian model output for visualization, including extensions to the grammar of graphics that incorporate ideas from probabilistic programming. He is the author of the tidybayes and ggdist R packages, as well as the rvar datatype in the posterior R package. More information can be found here.

Stay tuned - more details of the program will be presented in the next couple of days.
