Hey all,
A few of us working on the new Stan compiler, stanc3 are planning to meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 10am EST for about 30 minutes just to talk about what we’ve done so far, what we’re working on, and air any ideas or questions we have been thinking about. The meeting is open to anyone who wants to contribute.
We’re hoping the new compiler will enable lots of interesting optimizations on the Stan language, create a better platform for language feature development, and attract contributors from PL research and computer science who might enjoy OCaml more than C++. Anyone looking to dive in should feel free to PM me or @Matthijs - I know currently we have a lot of TODO
and XXX
stubs in code generation that should be relatively nice entry points for new contributors, but it’s a delicious green field project right now in many ways and a good time to get involved.
