If you were not already aware, the Stan compiler supports automatic formatting of your code. If you use the VSCode extension or the new language server you may have already had it format your code without even realizing.
If you are a user of the formatter, or if you have tried it in the past and found it unsatisfactory, I’d love to collect feedback, examples of where it goes wonky, etc in this thread. We tweak it a bit here and there, and it’s easier to do so if we know what people’s pain points are.
For example, @Niko recently pointed out to me that the formatting of function definitions degrades in quality as the names of the functions get longer. I’ve started tweaking this here.
