Sampling method taking forever on my MacBook Pro

I’m following the introductory pystan video on Youtube, and the fitting process is taking forever. I don’t think it should take more than a couple of seconds since the example given on the video is too simple.

I’m using a MacBook Pro, my gcc and pystan versions are 5 and 2.19.1.1

During the video the presenter mentioned a link to find how to proper install pystan on Mac, but I look at every single link and I couldn’t found the instructions.

Any tip?

Which introductory video?

It would be nice to have a new video which uses PyStan 3. macOS users should not have any problems upgrading.

Can you try with njobs=1? Not sure why, but on osx multiprocessing hangs sometimes. (I think our fork method should fix this issue)

Thanks, it worked.
