Postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Lifespan Changes in Brain and Cognition

A position as Postdoctoral Fellow is available at the Center for Lifespan Changes in Brain and Cognition (LCBC), at the Department of Psychology, University of Oslo. This position will fit a highly talented candidate with strong skills in longitudinal statistical modeling.

LCBC research is aimed at describing changes in cognitive function throughout life, and determining which variables can explain and predict these changes. We have unique large databases of longitudinal neurocognitive data, in part coupled to registry data. The data include cognitive test scores, brain imaging, genetics, a wide variety of somatic and health variables, demographics, inventory data etc. In total, more than 2000 participants from 4 to 90+ years have been followed over up to 11 years. In order to analyse in full these and other relevant data, we need a highly competent and motivated post doc researcher who will work with us in order to obtain stronger and more profound results.

Key words include:

  • Incomplete data, 1-5 time points of observations
  • Estimation and control for non-random selection bias
  • Estimation and control for test-retest effects on cognitive measures
  • Non-linear relationships and interactions
  • High dimensional data and variable selection
  • Causality

The candidate is expected to work closely with other researchers at LCBC as well as with our international collaborators.
