Pernicious warning message when running rstan or brms programs

I recently had to reset my windows laptop and reinstall R, RStudio, rstan etc.

Now when I run any model in either stan or brms I get the following warning message.

Warning message:
In system(paste(CXX, ARGS), ignore.stdout = TRUE, ignore.stderr = TRUE) :
  '-E' not found

None of the solutions on the following thread work https://discourse.mc-stan.org/t/installation-issue/15996

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

I’m not 100% sure, but that is something that has been fixed for the next release, and I think it shouldn’t affect the performance or the output. Do you get an object after sampling?

Hi @torkar. Yes it’s just me being fussy and not liking warning or errors when I run things. It’s not the end of the world. Glad to hear it’s being fixed.
