CmdStanR in R-multiverse

R-multiverse looks great who need stable package snapshots with CRAN level checks for packages that are not in CRAN

R-multiverse provides:

  1. A home for packages that fall outside the scope of other repositories such as CRAN and Bioconductor.
  2. Direct and timely distribution of package releases.
  3. Assurance of package quality for production scenarios.

It includes the same checks as CRAN, but for production snapshots (every 3 months) even stricter dependency and security checks.

R-multiverse production snapshot includes cmdstanr, so it seems there is a more stable and safe option to install cmdstanr than CRAN would be. Of course, you still need to install CmdStan, too, but that would be needed also if cmdstanr would be in CRAN. It seems they are going to add other Stan related R packages, too.
