POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
Commitment & contract: 3 years term contract.
Location: IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital, Rozzano, Milan, ITALY – Humanitas University.
Starting date: May 2023.

WHO WE ARE
reSeARChOMA (research in SARCOMA) Group a multidisciplinary translational team composed by Clinicians and Researchers of Humanitas Research Hospital and Humanitas University devoted to research in Sarcoma. We address a broad set of questions related to predictive markers, pharmacogenomics, and therapy response. Humanitas grants access to state-of-the-art research and top-notch support core facilities and attracts talented international scientists from across the world.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We are committed to study sarcoma microenvironment (SME) and its interaction with tumor cells to develop – and to clinically validate – a predictive and prognostic score, combining artificial Intelligence and high throughput techniques. The project will require the application of state-of-the-art statistical and machine learning approaches, image analysis skills and their further development to address the unique complexities of the data.

The applicant is expected to:

  • Have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in related disciplines (such as Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Mathematical biology);
  • Have excellent communication, organizational and writing skills in English;
  • Be motivated and independent, while being able to interact effectively with other members of the team.

Required skills

  • Statistical modeling and machine learning (Stan or PyMC3 or similar);
  • Programming (R or Python).

Desirable skills

  • Digital image analysis;
  • Causal Inference.
