Monthly Math development meeting: 03/19/2020, 10 am EST

Note: I don’t think I’ll be able to make it tomorrow; been balancing a lot of home duties with the current situation. If someone can post a different meeting link, please post it and I’ll edit the post. Google Meet needs the organizer to show up.

Hey all,

We have our monthly Math meetings on the third Thursday of the month. The next Math meeting is Thursday, March 19, 2020, 10 am Eastern time. This will last no more than one hour; if we need more time, we will schedule additional time.

This meeting is open to all those that currently contribute to the Math library or that would like to contribute to the Math library. If you’d like an invite to the Google Calendar event, please DM me with your Google handle. If you’d like to just have a copy of the event on your calendar, please use this link:

  • this is a chance to collaborate and coordinate efforts. We’re expecting everyone to be kind and courteous. And patient. We have a team with diverse backgrounds.
  • impactful decisions will not be made at these meetings. That will continue to be done online on these forums. The meetings are a good time to discuss and get on the same page, but the decision making will be done online where we can include the opinions of others that can’t make the meeting.
  • important discussions that happen at the meeting will be communicated back online on these forums. If they don’t make it back here, it wasn’t important. No one will be penalized for not being present at a meeting.

If there’s anything you know you want to talk about, please post here. This is a good time to request help from others if there’s expertise that you need.

@bbbales2, @rok_cesnovar, @Stevo15025 ? Anything to discuss? If yes, then it sounds as if we need to setup a google meeting link which is beyond me.

@syclik posted this link:

I don’t have anything in particular to say but gonna go anyway. Might remember something once I’m there.

If I read @syclik message correct, then we need our own link as he might not join himself. When @syclik does not join, then no one can admit attendees to the meeting given that @syclik is the meeting organiser… I think. So we need a new link.

Oh I didn’t read the first bit as I guess you’ve surmised.

Should we just reschedule? I think having @syclik in the meeting is pretty important.

Yeah… let’s reschedule then. Looks like no one is admitting us to the meeting and having @syclik would indeed be good.

Next week same time?

That would work, or anytime more convenient before then too.

My Monday looks good at the moment as well… let’s wait for @syclik to suggest seems as if he is more limited; though COVID-19 won’t go away by then, of course.

Everyone stay healthy!

next week works for me as well. I mean essentially like whenever lol

Same for me. I will work from home at least until mid april so I am flexible.

Stay safe and healthy!
