Enabling HTTPS for the Stan forums?

I just logged out and tried to log back in with github auth and it failed too. Google auth worked…

I’ll take a look over the next couple days. Sorry about that!

Bummer that this thing takes so much effort… :/

Just FYI to check if this was due to stale stuff I:

  1. logged out of discourse
  2. logged out of github
  3. logged into github
  4. cleared out my discourse Oauth authorization token
  5. logged into discourse via the “github oauth”

Then a window pops up saying: “Sorry, there was an error authorizing your account. Perhaps you did not approve authorization?”

That suggests that Chrome is just not opening the window where github asks you if you want to allow Discourse (and maybe it’s also ignoring old tokens). So… maybe the callback url in Discourse is not quite right?

And we’re back! @sakrejda: you were right. It was the callback url. It was a setting in GitHub.

For anyone following along, it’s a setting in GitHub. See: https://discourse.pro/t/topic/25

Without the small victories, we’d all just collapse in a puddle of despair as programmers.
