Cannot install rstan_2.9.0-3.tar

Hi, I am trying to install rstan_2.9.0-3.tar, but always got this error message(I deleted some part due to the limit number of words in the post) . Anyone knows what is going on? Thanks!

Survival analysis: initial values rejected

Hi, I am trying to do survival analysis, and saw this rstan code posted on Github, so I copied it into R, and used the provided data, but got the initial values rejection error. I have been working on it for 2 weeks, did a lot of googling in my efforts, tried to revise code many times, but still no luck. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks! Because Stan gave me something that apparently should not be negative. The newest version of R Stan could not sample correctly.

I would trust the current version over something from 2016.

Thanks! I just installed the outdated version of BH packaged and Rstan. It did not work. Well, I wanted to use the newest version of R Stan at the first place, but like I said, I got something that apparently should not be negative. I always got the error message, and it won’t start sampling. And I asked the person who posted the code, he replied me and said at the time he wrote the code, it can sample without any problem. so I am thinking to try the outdated version of Stan.

Much easier to fix your survival model than to install outdated versions. I think the NUTS algorithm was giving slightly wrong results back then anyway.

The survival model actually does not need to be fixed. It can be sampled without any problems in Jags. I don’t know what is the difference and what is going on in Stan.

I mean the Stan version needs to be fixed, which is much easier than installing everything needed to get such an old version of Stan to run.
