Attribution when deriving from Stan

I’m implementing adaptive HMC inspired by Stan’s implementation as a module in the Integrative Modeling Platform. Some code will be directly derived from Stan, with modifications to conform to our package.

Our standard license is the LGPLv3 license, which I understand should have no compatibility issues with Stan’s 3-clause BSD, as long as proper attribution is made. I’ll add Stan’s license summary info to each header/source file derived from Stan and to the README of my module. Anything other things I should do, or any issues I’ve not foreseen?

The software licensing is fine and it would be welcome (although completely optional) if you referenced https://arxiv.org/abs/1701.02434, which discusses the details of our dynamic HMC implementation, somewhere in the documentation.
