I hope I am not asking a stupid question by asking what does the rep in y^{rep} stand for when we draw from the posterior predictive distribution? Does it stand for a word like repeated or replicated? I’ve tried to find this but so far I’ve been unsuccessful.

What does the rep in yrep stand for?
