Thanks for the comments - I’m still having trouble with QR transformation. Can one do it where number of predictors>> number of observations? I couldn’t work out how to do this (and to rescale back to the original coefficients).

I think it would be better to ask this question again in a new topic with a title referring to QR transformation. Instead of QR, some other transformation might be useful.
