Should that not be 1 - v?

Of course it should, although note that the models are completely equivalent under symmetric zero centered coefficient priors; you just negate the interpretation of the first models coefficient and random effects, and of the second model’s beta1. But no need to confuse things. 1 - v is absolutely what I meant and this is a typo.
