# Stan on M4 Mac?

Sure, happy to! Though I’m not sure what that actually is. I assume it’s the functionality described in this thread? [Cross-chain warmup adaptation using MPI](https://discourse.mc-stan.org/t/cross-chain-warmup-adaptation-using-mpi/12912) (though _sampling_ suggests it’s not just about fancy pooling during adaptation?)

I have _Open MPI_ installed – do you know if the workflow has been updated any from the above, or would I still want to eg manually add flags in make/local and such?
